Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger – East London

Salary up to £25k

Our Client is an Interior Design & Build Agency. They are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger person to join the team at their East London offices. In this role, you will be responsible for the Purchase Ledger and report to the Finance Manager.

This is a vital role within a small but busy finance team which requires high volumes of data entry so attention to detail is of utmost importance.

As Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger your duties will include:

  • Accurately inputting supplier invoices ensuring the correct coding
  • Preparing weekly payment batches for review
  • Resolving supplier queries relating to invoices and payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Petty cash reconciliations
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Ad-hoc tasks

Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger key attributes required: 

  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines; accurate in volume processing
  • Driven and committed problem solver
  • Team player and can demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A flexible ‘can do’ attitude
  • Organised and conscientious
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience of processing high volumes of invoices
  • Previous experience using Xero accounting software is advantageous
  • Good A level education and good GCSEs in English and Mathematics
