Finance Manager – Marketing Consultancy

Finance Manager sought by dynamic forward thinking strategic marketing consultancy. The Finance Manager will report direct to the Finance Director and be responsible for on Finance Assistant (covering AP/AR). There’s good scope for this Finance Manager role to develop and grow into an FC.

The client has international reach, employing more than 60 people and is based near Liverpool Street station, London.

Salary c£45k and excellent Benefits

Key responsibilities as Finance Manager:

  • Track monthly pipeline and billings
  • Complete weekly finance report (cash, debtors & creditors)
  • Monitor WIP monthly. Liaise with project managers to ascertain correct proportion of revenue to be deferred
  • Analyse timesheet information provided by Project Management, to determine employee utilization
  • Monitor and report profitability, by department and product, preparing reports for senior management
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayment journals
  • Prepare quarterly VAT return
  • Review aged debtors and review provision for bad debts
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts (salary control, pensions, PAYE/NI, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly management reporting pack, to include P&L and balance sheet
  • Provide full variance analysis of management accounts to budget/forecast
  • Analyse overhead (indirect) costs expenses where necessary, liaise with budget holders regarding any variance to budget/forecast
  • Analyse product profitability and work with the FD to review existing and new product pricing and evaluate client fee costings
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of subsidiary accounts with local accounting firms
  • Assist in preparation of budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Identify immediate and longer-term areas for financial and operational efficiency, working with the FD and relevant Heads of Department to formulate action plans and then reporting to senior management
  • Work with managers and client-facing staff to encourage and educate people to focus as much on profit as they do on revenue

Key Attributes as Finance Manager required:

  • Paprika software experience essential
  • Management accounts experience
  • Able to be firm with colleagues to ensure approval procedures are followed
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
