Part-time Finance Assistant Global Consultancy

Part-time (3 days per week), permanent – £30k-£34k Pro-rata (DOE)

Our client is a London based Consultancy and Think Tank that works with business and governments globally. They are now seeking a Part-time (3 days per week), permanent Finance Assistant to support the company’s finance and key administrative functions. You will take on bookkeeping responsibilities alongside general administrative tasks

 Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to: Manager, Chairman and CEO Office Other Relationships: CEO, Senior Management Team

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up to date accounting records for the company and its subsidiaries using Xero and Dext (formerly Receipt Bank)
  • Ensuring a fast and accurate flow of information and communication between the company and accounting firm
  • Assist with the preparation of the statutory accounts and supporting schedules
  • Assist the statutory auditors throughout the audit process; support in submitting accounts to the Charity Commission.
  • Assist in the provision of forecasts and budgets
  • Support credit control, including preparing, recording, sending, and chasing of invoices and statements of account
  • Assistant the accounting firm with VAT returns and other tax issues
  • Managing the monthly outsourced payroll
  • Managing staff expenses and cost control- Staff expense and supplier payment run
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Weekly and month-end bank reconciliations
  • Preparing contracts/leases and ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible
  • Liaising with external suppliers
  • Keeping HR/operational records up to date
  • Overseeing GDPR.
  • Ensure guidelines and policies are up to date, ensure staff are informed of changes
  • Support to the senior management team and other administrative duties as required 

Finance Assistant key skills and qualifications:

  • Proven track record of providing accounting and administrative support
  • Experience in supporting a busy team and varied work objectives
  • MS Office proficiency including Word and Excel
  • Impeccable financial literacy
  • Ideally. experience/knowledge of using Xero software and Dext, or equivalent accounting and expense software
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • A high degree of integrity, tact and diplomacy
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • A self-starter and team player
