VisionFR is delighted to be working with our client, a Manchester-based creative agency growing quickly. The finance team plays an important role in supporting the success of the business and they are now looking for a detail-oriented Finance Manager to join the team and help ensure the smooth operation of the financial processes.

Role Overview:

The Finance Manager will manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure compliance with company policies. This role involves a mix of accounting oversight and operational finance responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Director with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the accounts payable function, processing supplier invoices & payments and responding to queries.
  • Manage the accounts receivable function ensuring timely invoicing.
  • Manage the ageing receivables ledger ensuring payments are collected according to company policy.
  • Manage company expenses and corporate card system.
  • Bookkeeping and reconciliation of company bank accounts.
  • Support the Financial Director in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the external audit process, ensuring timely submission of documents and responding to audit queries.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function and assist in implementing new procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for operational decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Accounting qualification (or in later stages of study) e.g. ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Experience in an agency environment would be advantageous.
