Overview

VisionFR are delighted to be working with a fab Fashion House, who is seeking their first In house Finance person. Working 2 days a week – with the scope to grow over time.

Working alongside the owner and the Creative Director of this 5 year old SME Fashion House helping through their new growth phase they are looking to transition from just direct to consumer selling to also undertaking warehouse distribution Channels.

Founded 5 years ago this brand is going from strength to strength undertaking World Tours , Brand Shoots it is looking to become an Iconic brand.

They are looking to set the pillars of the company in place prior to the expansion and as part of that are looking for an inhouse part time Finance Manager working closely with the team and alongside the company accountants.

Initially they feel at 2 days a week will suffice but there is scope to grow as perhaps responsibilities of the Accountants diminish. The Company is currently around 6 perm staff plus some freelancers.

Initially this role is transactional but also advisory – so they are looking for someone who can bring ideas of how to do things better and more profitably, someone who will help look at the operations as well as just the numbers.

It will be important for this person to understand cashflow and how that works in retail distribution/ fashion world and also someone who has analytical capabilities.

The main Responsibilities

  • Invoices Inwards – authorisation, correct allocation, reconciliation of supplier statements, Payment runs.
  • Invoices Out – Ensure accurate billings to relevant Clients – allocation and reconciliation of Stripe account.
  • Cash – Allocation of cash in / Cash Out – Bank reconciliations – correct postings
  • Cash Flow – Creation of cashflow forecasting
  • Credit card – allocation of Credit card spend – posting of Invoices/ Receipts
  • VAT – Quarterly Vat Return
  • Salaries – the Payroll is outsourced so ensure correct allocation of Journals into the Nominal ledger
  • Reconciliation of PAYE, NI & Pension account.
  • Payment of NI, PAYE, VAT, Tax on a timely basis time
  • Accruals & Prepayments – Correct Journal postings and release as appropriate at month end.
  • Operations – Support on operational matters such as reviewing Insurances looking at office contractors as needed
  • Business partnering – Analysis of the trends Cash – Revenue etc., Look at processes systems and efficiencies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Familiar with Xero
  • Good Analytical Skills
  • Accurate Book Keeping Skills
  • Exposure to Fashion Retail would be Ideal
  • Someone who loves working in a creative environment
  • Someone who can work Flexibly for around 16 Hours a week ( 2 days )
  • Someone who is willing to go into the office at least 1 day a week.
