VisionFR is delighted to be working with an outstanding Educational Consultancy and Home- Schooling Business – approx. 20 people – in their search for a Finance Assistant
As Finance Assistant you will need excellent communication skills, strong organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to manage credit control processes effectively. You will play a key role in supporting the finance team’s daily operations, ensuring accurate financial transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities
- Credit Control & Collections: Develop and maintain a robust credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Track and reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Invoicing & Payments: Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices and payments, ensuring timely and accurate billing and settlement of payments.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of basic balance sheet accounts.
- Financial Queries Management: Manage the finance queries mailbox, responding to clients, tutors, and stakeholders promptly and professionally.
- Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining finance operations and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Reporting Support: Produce weekly and monthly reporting on debtors and direct debit performance.
- Tutor Support: Ensure tutors submit their billable hours on time, resolving queries related to payments and invoicing.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the Finance and Commercial teams to ensure transparency, accuracy, and partnership in financial processes.
Finance Assistant Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in a Finance, Credit Control, or Accounts Receivable role.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience using cloud-based financial systems.
- High attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders in an empathetic and professional manner.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to understand and adapt to new financial processes quickly.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Xero knowledge beneficial
