VisionFR is delighted to be working with a social media branding agency to find them their first Head of Projects. You will create, mentor and lead the team, establishing processes, documentation and best practices. The Head of Projects will work closely with Client Services to scope and cost work accurately and maintain the profitable delivery of all projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Projects
Team Building & Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers.
- Define clear roles, workflows, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and excellence.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Process & Systems Implementation
- Develop frameworks and standardised documentation to streamline project planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Identify and implement tools or platforms that improve visibility, resource allocation, and cost management across multiple projects.
- Refine processes based on real-world feedback and performance data, ensuring they evolve as the agency grows.
Project Oversight & Profitability
- Oversee all active client projects, ensuring they meet timelines, quality standards, and profitability targets.
- Work closely with the Finance team to set realistic budgets and manage resources effectively.
- Maintain a strong focus on margins—delivering world-class results without compromising on cost discipline.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Partner with Client Services to accurately scope and cost new requests, creating transparent project proposals.
- Act as the main escalation point for any project-related challenges or timeline shifts.
- Communicate progress, risks, and updates to internal stakeholders (e.g.
- Strategy, Creative) and external stakeholders (clients).
Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Capture lessons learned from each project, feeding insights back into processes and documentation.
- Encourage knowledge sharing across teams, ensuring our operations evolve with each new challenge.
- Champion operational excellence, setting the standard for project delivery within the agency.

Skills and Experience of The Head of Projects
- Proven Project Leadership: Demonstrated success in building and scaling a project management function—preferably in a marketing or creative environment.
- Process-Oriented Mindset: Ability to create, document, and refine operational workflows to drive efficiency.
- Financial Acumen: Skilled at budgeting, resource allocation, and margin management.
- Exceptional Communication: Capable of translating complex details into clear, actionable plans for both internal teams and clients.
- Proactive Problem-Solver: Quick to spot potential pitfalls and devise solutions without compromising delivery or profitability.
