Vision FR is working with a caring, energetic, creative agency, based in central London to support them in finding a Revenue Focused WIP/Billing Accountant to join the team for 6 months.
This is a broad role with multiple deliverables if you’re a candidate looking for variety, visibility and the chance to try something new. You’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of a major new business win, delivering hands of Business Partnering to Client teams. Alongside this, you’ll provide essential day-to-day finance support that keeps the business running smoothly. Key Responsibilities for WIP/Billing Accountant
Business Partnering
Become a trusted financial partner working with the agency’s Client team, helping the Project Management function deliver best‑in‑class client accounting aligned with SLAs.
You will:
- Lead the Sales Ledger process for 16 of their clients from invoicing through to credit control
- Work closely with external delivery partners on POs, payment updates, and financial queries
- Manage the ISOW process
- Collaborate with the Account Management team to consolidate monthly client reconciliations and support budgeting and project financial analysis
Sales Ledger & Revenue Management
You will be the financial heartbeat of client operations, responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate client system details
- Managing debtors and credit control to support healthy agency cash flow
- Overseeing client job records to keep projects running smoothly
- Acting as the final approver for Sales Invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely payment
- Completing Client reporting and other external sales MI as needed
- Supporting the Financial Controller with data prep for the monthly client finance reviews.
Nominal Ledger & Month End
You’ll play a key role in timely and accurate financial reporting through:
- Completing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Partnering with Account Management to update revenue and forecasting files.
- Supporting month‑end processes including staff utilisation and client profitability reporting.
Additional Support & Integration Work
- Provide holiday and ad hoc cover for the Finance Assistant (primarily Purchase Ledger).
- Use your analytical skills to deliver ad hoc insight and reporting for the Financial Controller and Finance Director.
- Work directly with the Integration Team on data preparation, analysis, and systems alignment into Group holding Company.
- Support Account Managers with queries related to Paprika and job budget management
Skills & Experience of the WIP/Billing Accountant
- Communication: Clear, concise, and confident with both internal stakeholders and client contacts
- Computer skills: Competent at using MS Office programmes (Primarily Excel – formulae, Pivot tables). Adept at picking up new systems as will use Paprika, our Finance software daily
- Numeracy & Finance Experience: Previous Finance Team experience is essential, with an understanding of the project life cycle and sales ledger processes helpful
- Professional development – Ideal for someone progressing through a finance qualification and looking to broaden their commercial experience:
- Working towards AAT Level 4 or ACCA/ACA/CIMA part‑qualified
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance roll
