Hybrid: 3 days in office and 2 WFH

Salary: £75,000 – £80,000

We are delighted to be seeking a Head of Finance for our Client who is a leading light in the world of TV production. They produce outstanding, gripping, highly regarded programmes that are distributed globally. They are looking for a qualified Head of Finance to join the team 

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

  • Cashflow management, including utilising cash effectively across both companies 
  • Maintain strong supplier partnerships, particularly with managing payments effectively across our large freelancer base
  • Review & negotiate on all supplier & client contracts
  • Manage payroll & pensions for WM (45 employees)
  • Input into production budgets and review all financing agreements – leading on external loans with third parties where required
  • Review how each production is performing against budget monthly & work closely with the team to maintain strong financial discipline & protect our margin
  • Lead on annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for both companies
  • Preparation of monthly WM/WI management accounts and presentation to the board (Quarterly)
  • Management of audit process, including preparing financial statements, supporting packs & ensuring audit readiness
  • Provide data for all investor relationships (both debt & equity) monthly
  • Manage royalties received across both companies to ensure correct treatment for all rights owners and the distribution investment facility
  • Manage inter-company relationships between the Group and the associated shareholder entities
  • Relationship management with the external accounting firm
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including debt providers & banks, ensuring all covenants are kept
  • Manage special projects, including the right tracker system, IP valuations, review revenue recognition, reclaiming withholding tax, Tax credits etc.
  • Manage Company Secretarial filings for all entities
  • Continuously review and propose improvements for processes, workflows & policies to raise the overall quality of our financial infrastructure
  • Ad hoc support as required for the CEO, Commercial Director and Head of Production
  • Lead & develop a team of 3 – Accounts Payable Asst, Accounts Manager, & a Production Acct.

Skills & Experience of the Head of Finance:

  • Qualified Accountant with substantial post qualified experience
  • Experience working within the TV or film business – ideally within distribution
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced creative atmosphere
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable working at Board level but equally happy to roll up sleeves & be hands on
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the business
  • Committed to delivering to agreed timescales with a high degree of accuracy
  • Flexible attitude towards working responsibilities and workload
  • Strong team player
