Finance Manager – part-time mat cover – VFR3287

VisionFR is working with an employee owned SME creative communications agency, to find an experienced sole role part-time Finance Manager to cover maternity leave.  This is a 4 day a week role responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the agency.  Revenue is £2.5M and there are 25 perm staff. The part-time Finance Manager will work closely with the Fractional Finance Director and CEO. In person attendance will be needed for on boarding, induction & key meeting other than that they will be flexible with working from home but the candidate needs to be within close proximity of central London.

Key Responsibilities of the part-time Finance Manager

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and commentary and present to the Board and management teams
  • Work with the fractional FD to prepare and update annual full company budgets and reforecasts
  • Work with the Account Management team to issue client invoices and identify accrued and deferred income 
  • Monitor sales ledger and chase invoice payments if needed
  • Work within the broader business to monitor spend against budgets, and manage payroll and pension queries
  • Liaise with our accountants on payroll, pension contributions, end-of-year statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Update our accountants and benefits partner with payroll changes monthly, review all payroll reports, set up payroll payments, and submit relevant pension contribution information
  • Manage all HMRC payments
  • Complete, submit and pay VAT returns  
  • Process and pay supplier invoices and staff expenses
  • Execute all day-to-day bookkeeping and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly 
  • Liaise with bank on banking and credit cards
  • Liaise with Companies House
  • Support the FD in the annual insurance renewals process

Skills and Experience of the part-time Finance Manager

  • Qualified accountant or Finalist or QBE with good relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar SME creative agency
  • Knowledge of Xero for accounting and Synergist for project management helpful
  • Proactive and resourceful
  • A team-focused attitude
  • Enthusiastic!
  • Able to start 3rd week in July
